Blue Cilantro tells the legend of how the unique flavor of the the exotic and rare blue cilantro helped unite India with Europe, East with West. This legend is the founding stone of the restaurant’s concept of fusion dining, uniting dishes from different parts of the world. The homage to the mystical herb is also reflected in the decor of the venue. Restaurant is designed in blue hues with occasional outbursts of bright accents. This makes dining area a pleasant setting for intimate gatherings and gives hints of the exotic mood of the restaurant.

Glass Studio worked with restaurant’s team on transferring this concept to the tabletop. Restaurant dinnerware designs included glass show plates, bread and butter plates and decorative votives and vases. The show plates were envisioned as the focal point of the tabletop, and had the task to instantly “wow” the visitors and prepare them for the culinary journey.

Our team chose designs from Glass Studio’s signature “Pearls” collection to match the concept of the restaurant. Show plates featured “pearl” pattern in signature “canal blue” color. This pattern consists of colored concentric lines on the clear glass background, evoking a playful movement of the water circles.

The bread and butter plates followed the same concept, but with contrasting effect – clear pattern on colored surface of blue glass plates. Plates have irregular shape and seamless rim that give table set up a relaxed, tranquil look.
This dinnerware design is used for tropical restaurants, allowing tableware to harmonize with the interior and to set the mood for the exotic culinary treats. It matched well the concept and decor of Blue Cilantro and helped create memorable and stylish tabletop.
