Red glass show plates for Fire, W Retreat & Spa Bali Seminyak
W Retreat & Spa Bali-Seminyak opened in March 2011, reflecting W’s signature approach to hospitality – combining edgy and dynamic style with superb services. Glass Studio collaborated with hotel’s opening team in creating tableware designs for two dining venues” “Starfish Bloo” and “Fire”. In this post we introduce our designs of red glass plates for the “Fire” restaurant.
Restaurant decor at Fire, W Retreat & Spa Bali
“Fire” is a an all day dining venue, specializing in grill delicacies and gourmet pizzas. At the heart of the restaurant is the open kitchen, which allows the patrons to observe the food preparation. The decor of the “Fire” is exactly what the name suggests – an outburst of bright yellow and red colors and flame-resembling accents against the black marble background. Dramatic fireball-like glass chandelier is at the center of attention, and completes the decor of dark marble and wood floors and bright red and yellow chairs.
Glass Studio’s team was in charge of creating restaurant dinnerware. Key pieces for this restaurant were glass show plates and bread&butter dishes.

Unlike in our previous projects, the main accent in tableware designs for the “Fire” was placed on the bread&butter plates. The rectangular plates with soft round edges features one of Glass Studio’s signature patterns – “flame”, which perfectly fits with the restaurant’s theme. The bright flame-like pattern gave an interesting accent to the tabletop and highlighted the fiery spirit of the venue.

The show plate design featured square glass plates in bright orange color. The shape compliments the edgy and dynamic feel of the decor, while the color matches the furniture and ornaments. This way, our designers achieved harmony with the overall restaurant decor, while also allowing the dinnerware to be part of the “Fire” experience.
