Decorated Dinnerware for Strata, InterContinental Doha The City
“Strata” is the new dining venue at InterContinetnal Doha The City hotel. The restaurant was launched in April this year, and immediately drew attention with its novel take on seafood dining, experimenting with molecular gastronomy and fusing the flavors from European and Asian cuisines. Restaurant is located on the 55th floor of the West Bay Tower and offers stunning panoramic views of the city. The concept of the decor was developed over a six-month period, with careful attention to tableware designs, glassware and overall table settings.
Tableware designs for Strata
Glass Studio‘s designers worked closely with the restaurant’s F&B team on creating stylish.tableware. Dinnerware designs for this restaurant included glass show plates and bread and butter plates, caviar presentation plates, appetizer plates, wine buckets and table accessories such as napkin rings.
The design of show plates featured minimal round shape and metallic pearl color, evoking the color of sea shells. Show plates featured baroque floral design, which perfectly matched the pattern of the black and white mosaic floors and offered interesting contrast to the marble tabletops.

The design of bread and butter plates was based on round shape in white color with pearly finish. We used tattoo-like pattern in black color at the side of the plate, which matched the print of the restaurant’s logo. The same pattern was also used on the appetizer plates so as to carry on with the theme.
